In the 1960s the historical novel "Adios al Séptimo de Línea" (Farewell to the Seventh Regiment of the Line) was read by almost every Chilean over the age of three. Los Cuatro Cuartos -- one of the most popular Chilean folk music groups of the decade -- recorded this album of songs about the War of the Pacific, the subject of the novel. If you like Los Fronterizos of Argentina, you are sure to like Los Cuatro Cuartos. There is no limit to the things they can do with their instuments and voices. I challenge you to listen to their music without wanting to dance a refalosa, zamba, trote, or cueca. Let's hope that more Los Cuatro Cuarto CDs become available through Amazon.com. ¡Viva Chile mier......mosa patria! Actually, I'm American, but this music bestows honorary citizenship on its listeners.
