Fantastic!.......2005-03-11

I was in Mexico when I first heard this cd and immediately asked where I could buy it. Every music store in Mexico I went to searching for this cd was sold out. Fito Olivares has done a masterpiece. Cumbia lovers will enjoy listening to his music. It's definitely the best I've heard in many years. It will keep your feet going and wanting to get on the dance floor from song 1 to song 30. I highly recommend it.

Good listen, but not Marco Antonio Solis.......2007-05-26

I bought this for my wife, who loves Solis. This is a really good album, but quite a bit different from Solis' solo works. Recommend for true Solis fans, a good album you should not do without. For non Solis fans, this album stands by itself as a completely different style of music.

There was nothing less that a star so that was what i was obligated to give it but it was not worth that. HORRIBLE cd for one of the BEST GROUP EVER, the worst cd I'd ever purchased. You think that you are getting 30 songs (too good to be true) but you are only getting 30-1 1/2 minute samples and if that wasn't bad enough the first 30seconds of each "song" is an "into" (a man in a sexy voice talking about the songs). WASTE OF $, WASTE OF TIME!!!!!!! WATCH FOR OTHER INOLVIDABLES!

Muy buenas canciones, pero...........2006-01-18

Este CD tiene muy bonitas canciones pero algo que no me gusto ni a mi ni a mi esposa es una voz que introduce cada cancion. En cada cancion sale un señor introduciendo las canciones. Esto es lo unico que no nos gusto pero muy buenas canciones.

This is one of my favorite groups growing up. I saw this cd and have to buy it. It has all their hits and great to play, but my big issue with this cd is that the songs arent recorded to completion. They songs cut off after 2 minutes or so...which i found astounding. Go buy another cd... this is unacceptable!!!!

Hey, it's not all THAT bad! :).......2005-04-07

Whether this album is wonderful or not that hot depends on your point of view.

True, if you're looking for 30 unforgettable Rigo Tovar songs in their full length, exactly as they originally appeared, then this album is not for you. Hey, it's 30 songs! You can't possibly fit 30 songs at their original length of 4 minutes or more onto a single CD! That's 120 minutes or more and one CD just isn't long enough!

Likewise, if you want the music and just the music and nothing more, then this album is also probably not for you. Each of the songs on this CD is introduced by a brief (just a few seconds) something-or-other -- like restaurant sound effects mimicking the idea of music in the background at a restaurant, or a deejay introducing the song as if it's playing on the radio. This is (judging from the other reviewers) annoying to some people, and if you're like that then this will be annoying to you, too.

On the other hand... once the vignette part is over the rest is pure, unadulterated Tovar.

The music that makes up the large majority (over 90%) of this CD is the original, real Rigo Tovar. All of the choruses. Many (most?) of the verses. Basically, exactly the same recordings you recall from when you fell in love with his music back when you were a kid.

Soooooo... if you want to recall Rigo's unforgettables -- 30 of them! -- this may well be the album for you. If you want the 100% complete, unchanged originals? Well, you'll have to go elsewhere for those and you'll have to buy several disks. It's up to you!

Songs ruined by overdubed intros. STAY AWAY!!!.......2004-05-29

The songs on this CD are, at least in their original form, great. But some idiot decided that they would add their "ideas" to the intros of all of the songs on this CD. Basically, the intros of all of these songs are overdubed with idiodic comments that, I guess, were supposed to serve some purpose. THIS RUINS EVERY CUT ON THIS CD!! Whoever decided to do this to RT's songs should be hung out to dry!

DO NOT BUY THIS CD!!

Who is that guy?.......2004-04-06

Disappointing. Unfortunately while these do sound like the original recordings of Rigo Tovar and his Costa Azul, they have added a voiceover that constantly interrupts each track with tacky poetry or a mock conversation between a couple (who are these people?). The song I bought the cd for (Palabritas) is hard to find - on this cd, not only is it interrupted at the beginning by this voice, but is not even allowed to end before the voice cuts in again and another song begins. Terrible!

Este disco lamentablemente no sirve, son las versiones originales pero les han introducido una especie de poemas al principio lo que no permite disfrutar las canciones. NO VALE LA PENA. Los de Univisión lamentablemente están vendiendo productos que ofenden.
