    LA LUPE is raw emotion, with a sort of Eartha Kitt quality, and there's no bad song in this bunch. Celia has a great voice, amazing swing and ability to improvise but with La Lupe you smell the danger, the dark alleys of despair, the sensousness of her performances in a sweaty tropical night. She transports you! And if Nat King Cole can attempt Spanish, La Lupe can definitely sing in English.

    Coincido con lo dicho por otros melómanos. Hay que conseguir su versión de "FEVER" y hay que aullar con sus boleros ("QUE TE PEDI"). Sí señor, y escucharla despedazar la lengua inglesa. No se la pierdan, recomiendo como algo más suave a OLGA GUILLOT y en hombre a ROSAMEL ARAYA. Rescaten del olvido a los grandes y compren también tango. Hasta pronto.

    The Best of "La Lupe" is just that. The BEST in melodramatic, heart wrenching, love turned sour collection of songs, by one of Cuba's most dynamic performers (infamous for tearing off her clothes during a television performance in Mexico.) Her voice at once draws you near, only to attack you with an acerbic venom that comes right out of your speakers and bites you on the mouth. You must give this woman a listen, you'll fall madly in love with her, because she is the Diva of Melodrama.
