Trippy, Unique, and Completely Unforgettable!.......2007-06-18
Despite a silly title, whimsical lyrics, and playful compositions, Dan Deacon's "Spiderman of the Rings" is music one should definitely take seriously. The album is comprised of the sort of glitchy, electronic tinkering that made up Sufjan Stevens' second, pre-states album, "Year of the Rabbit." At the same time, Deacon's music has a much more playful feel than Sufjan's, as evidenced by the title of the album and the tracks it contains. The end result is a fun-filled album, that should not go unnoticed.
"Woody Woodpecker" starts the album off on a rather sour note, to be honest. Almost every second of this 4-minute song is plagued by a sample of the iconic cartoon character's grimace-inducing chuckle, repeated over and over. The song clearly serves as the introduction to "Spiderman of the Rings," as it lacks the focus and characteristics of the album's real songs. As such, it's distractiveness can be excused and easily skipped over. "The Crystal Cat" picks things up a notch, and introduces listeners to what will be an ongoing theme throughout the album; the utilization of squeaky pitch-shifted vocals. What Deacon is actually saying here is a mystery to me, though I get the feeling that what is actually said is less important than what role the vocal melody plays with everything else that is going on.
"Wham City" is a 12-minute epic that features what sounds like a Munchkin Choir singing "There is a mountain of snow across a big land. We have a castle enclosed, there is a fountain. Out of the fountain flows gold into a huge hand," and other ridiculous, though admirable lyrics. The song is constantly evolving throughout it's 12 minutes, even coming to a complete halt at one point, only to slowly rebuild into its opening theme once again. It is certainly an ambitious song, and as such, it is also the highlight of the album.
"Big Milk" is the moment on the album where Deacon sounds most like Sufjan Stevens ala "Year of the Rabbit." It is a mostly calm song that features a xylophone and serves as a much needed exhale to the song it follows. "Okie Dokie" finds Dan coming as close as he ever does to a full on sing-along as he repeats "I've got a rattlesnake gun" like a mantra. Other highlights on the album include "Snake Mistakes" and "Pink Batman," both of which are excellently composed and brilliantly executed by Deacon as he chooses the perfect sounds for each part of the songs. It's hard to imagine them sounding like anything else.
Overall, "Spiderman of the Rings" is anything but disappointing or ill-advised. Deacon comes off as a musician who slaves over his craft, spending hours locked away in his bedroom turning knobs, pushing buttons, and figuring out the perfect lyric for a 5-second segment. Despite his distinctly childish approach to songwriting, his songs are so intricate and complex that they are clearly made by someone who knows what he is doing. Though the talent displayed on the album is astronomical, I have a hard time believing in its longevity. It doesn't seem like an album that I can play repeatedly for weeks without growing tired of it. But it's hard to be disappointed when I know that the time I am able to devote to the album will be some of the most enjoyable I've had in recent memory. If anything, Dan Deacon has created something that you'll always have fond memories of, even if the appeal wears off too soon. Quite simply, it is something you'll have a hard time forgetting. That's a good thing.
Recommended for fans of Sufjan Stevens' "Enjoy Your Rabbit" and anybody who wants to relive the endless wonder of childhood in music form.

Spectacular SPIDER-MAN Score!.......2005-09-16
When I first saw the "Spider-Man" film, not only was I in awe of the impressive visuals that were appearing before me,but also as much with the spectacular score that the genius Danny Elfman had composed.
This is one potent, powerful and memorable Motion Picture Score that enhances the quality of this film. From the very first notes of the "Main Title",I knew this score was going to be something special - and it is! It has so much going for it.
The "Main Title" and other compositions throughout the score make great use of the choir, whether it be for fast paced action sequences or personal, emotional scenes that occur every so often.
The track "Costume Montage" also is a beautiful combination of score and guitar, and the two compliment each other well.It being one of my favourite tracks on the album.
The track "Revenge",this is another pure delight from the score. It firstly commences in great style with orchestra, then as the pace and emotion gradually picks up, the forces of orchestra, choir and synthesizer combine,to produce another memorable piece.
If I were asked to mention a few of my favourite tracks from this admirable score they would have to be the following - the "Main Title","Costume Montage","Revenge","Revelation" and "Final Confrontation".
This score would have to be one of the best that Danny Elfman has composed thus far in his long and illustrious career. A bold statement, but a true one nonetheless - to my way of thinking anyway!
Awesome.......2005-07-27
All though not as brilliant as the earlier Burton scores, Elfman strikes again with this amazing score. It is rich, percussive, choral, brassy, and huge.
One of the best scores in the last several years.
Spider-Man 1 And 2 Score.......2005-04-08
This May Get to you all. Have you all notice something different in the (score). I will tell you the bit where Peter Parker climbs the wall, Also when he looks into the mirrer, when he misses the bus and starts running for it. Shore there is a bit of the music after the bus but all you fans need that little bit extra. Now I Am a Spider-Man Fan big time and some fans know what that little extra needs. With Spider-Man 2 what about Train & Appreciation that was not used in the movie. I don't care if the counduct the same thing over it's not Elfman wants its what the customer wants also the fans. The missing bits in Spider-Man 2 Score was when his bike got run over and he races after the bad guys or what about the extra bit on The Bank/Saving AuntMay where Doc Ock gets shot out to the car and Web Slinger Runs for him that little bit. Hey its a exellant Cd but when i was reading a kid story this is what I was reading.
Maked a disc 2 Edition now with all the stuff on the Cd.
where with you mate
Spider Man 1 and 2.......2005-04-06
I think that all scores are good and i just want to say something to you all the (score) are missing somthing.
The extra music like when Peter Parker climbs the wall i thought that Danny Elfman put that in the Scores also plus the TRain And Appreciation they Conduted differently think the Train And Appreciation should be change immediatley becuase it's not used in the movie. If I where Danny Elfman i would of made 2 CD's and the whole lot of on the Cd. The Scores now Are great but its just not complete with the left over music he made. This is Bradley And I Live in OLD AUS Reporting my juggment on this Score it is great but make another Cd with all the stuff on it Please. Ps.
I think Venom Goes Well In Spider-Man 3 and the other Villan The Green Goblin
With a sweeping score Elfman's Spider-Man Soares!.......2005-02-21
Returning to the super-hero genre with a vengeance is Danny Elfman. Spider-Man is the premier Marvel hero, and Elfman gives him the perfect score. Starting quietly, Elfman builds up a crescendo that captures the feeling of Marvel's webhead swinging through the city. Throwing in a rough theme for the Green Goblin and an enjoyable love theme, Elfman creates 45 minutes of enjoyable listening. I have to say that without his music for the Goblin, the movie would have been slightly ridiculous. Overall, Spider-Man is a truly enjoyable score.

The boys will be so pleased. Radio-friendly stadium rock is back in a big way, and Music from and Inspired by Spider-Man makes capital use of the trend. Like the blockbuster film itself, there's an attempt to provide something enjoyably disposable for everyone--resulting in "anthemic" songs you nod along to, and then forget the second they're done. Bands and artists you probably don't know (Bleu, Black Lab, Greenwheel) add the Everyman feel Spider-Man's character is said to approximate, while heroes Aerosmith provide an appropriately cartoonish cover of the original "Spider-Man Theme" (but nice to hear them hammily rocking, rather than wringing it ballad style). And if Kid Rock shouted the chorus on a Beastie Boys joint, and their studio guitarist stole the riff from "Devil Went down to Georgia" and used it for an intro, you'd have Sum 41's latest effort ("What We're All About"). Throw in Danny Elfman, some buzz from the Hives ("Hate to Say I Told You So") and the Strokes ("When It Started"), add the token Mary Jane (Macy Gray's "My Nutmeg Phantasy"), and the soundtrack does what it should--provides rock-solid support for the film, and then fades out. --Laura Etling

Spider-Man: Music.......2007-03-10
Made a great gift with the varied artist that has songs on it.
Disappointed..........2006-07-22
I bought the Spiderman II Cd and absolutely fell in love with it, i love every song on that cd, best cd i ever bought. So i figured i'd like this one too. It pretty much sucks. There's a few good ones, but i end up skipping most of them. Thuroughly disappointed.
Some Great songs...But the Whole Album is Less that Stellar........2006-03-23
I have to say that I love tracks 2, 7 and 8. I really only bought this Cd for "Hero" by Chad Kroeger...actually it seems strange that this Cd is the only place to get this song, it should totally be on a single. But anyway; I got "Hero" and was very pleased with it, and then tracks 7/8 were just a bonus.
And for just about three and a half dollars it was well worth the price.
Spidey's mediocre soundtrack.......2005-11-27
I guess for one thing- this soundtrack's only really made notable due to the inclusion of the original theme from the old television cartoon series, and the vamped out rendition of AEROSMITH, which the RAMONES have covered as well (but is not included in the soundtrack - nor does it appear on the movie).
Welp, this soundtrack includes a lot of tracks that are not only irrelevant- but hadn't even appeared in the movie; with a number of them coming from those dorky/unknown kind of bands which runs in the commercialized vein with a stolen format taken from the unsung SIZE 14 -- from the likes of BLEU; SUM 41 (who 'sings' "Rock- that's what we're all about; that's what we live for, comon shout it out" when obviously they dont live what they're yapping at -cos they rap. Rap aint rock- it's crap!); DEFAULT with a track called 'Blind' (when we're not talking about the soundtrack for DAREDEVIL aren't we); the disgusting GREENWHEEL which vies for a MATCHBOX 20 swouwnd with its vowculliestth (it's vocalist Rob Thomas he aint- maybe wanting to charm chicks same way the said Thomas did); that passe band called THE STROKES who tries to emulate BECK's sound (which would've amounted to nothing if not for 'Loser'); and THEORY OF A DEAD MAN singing about 'The Invisible Man'- which is not that bad really, its just that the track could've been rendered the invincible instead, cos Spidey didn't have any invisibility powers y'know. Let alone Harry Potter.
It would've been a better deal for the movie and the soundtrack as well if they'd featured that fabulous ozzy band MIDNIGHT OIL doing a rendition of their own 'King of the Mountain' - on that scene where The Green Goblin made his first appearance in the flick by attacking the launching party for OsCorp, instead of that annoying vocal performance of Macy Grey.
Other notable tracks in the soundtrack of sorts are the ones from THE HIVES (who would've been fitting if its a soundtrack about the MOTH MAN ~kidding), and contributions from posers by the likes of CHAD KROEGER and COREY TAYLOR.
Real notable tracks are those from ALIEN ANT FARM (who would've been fitting for A BUG's LIFE or maybe for the ANT MAN if a movie'd come around for this old comic book hero would come by if ever hehehe); rival-to-STP's ALICE IN CHAINS vocalist Jerry Cantrell and from Pete Yorn (who also appeared on a RAMONES tribute album), plus my real favourite in the soundtrack is the track from INJECTED called 'IV-V-VI'.
However, Danny Elfman did a fine rendering of the score (which is released in full through the Spidey movie score soundtrack album (such clever marketing gimmicks thus)) mainly with the Main Title track, and it's a neccessary thing for Elfman considering that a lot are beggining to label his music as monotunous, mainly through his works for Tim Burton's movies.
They could've rather set the songs with Elfman's songs on a single soundtrack album, and in my crummy opinion - what should've been in the album are the following:
IN SEQUENCE/ORDER of TRACKS=
1) Spider Man theme
2) Spider Man theme RAMONES
3) Main Title theme DANNY ELFMAN
add there
4) CHAD KROEGER and
5) COREY TAYLOR's
6) ALIEN ANT FARM
7) THE HIVES
contributions
cos reportedly they are really intended for the film as meant
-and
8) INJECTED
9) MIDNIGHT OIL's rehash of 'King Of The Mountain'
10) JERRY CANTRELL's
11) AEROSMITH's theme version
12) Farewell DANNY ELFMAN
along with his other score tracks - plus I guess a contribution for the GREEN GOBLIN's Theme would've sufficed and that it would be commisionned that the said track would be a contribution from Ozzy Osborne.
Other artist who would've been fitting to appear in the soundtarck would be: TORI AMOS, BJORK, CHEAP TRICK, U2, and STING. Furthermore, I guess it would've been okey as well if they'd JOAN OSBORNE also as commisioned to do a retake of her song 'Spider Web' for this soundtrack and've pulled out to inlude the old NO DOUBT tune of the same title from their early works.
And in passing - howzabout one of those tracks from the old 70's indie issued SPIDERMAN: Rock Reflections of a SuperHero record (with Stanley's narration) like 'No One's Got A Crush On Peter'... or at least if it'd appeared a bit as a background on the movie.
Was it even neccessary to make more than 6 songs?.......2005-08-22
If you can get this album for 2.00 its worth it. Otherwise forget it. This must be noted:ALMOST ALL THE SONGS ON THIS SOUNDTRACK ARE NOT IN THE MOVIE!!!! If you have unfortunately bought this album. Your best bet is to copy the couple of songs that were in the film and sell it to a FYE store near you or a used cd place.Remember folks, you can always sell it.

For such a sleek, high-flying superhero Spiderman seems to have surprisingly earthy tastes in rock & roll. No Jurassic 5. No Franz Ferdinand. Not even the White Stripes, whose color motif would have made perfect sense find space on his CD shelf. Instead, the latest installment of the comic book saga leans heavily toward explosive tunes by strapping tattooed men who aren't afraid to cry: Dashboard Confessional's "Vindicated," Hoobastank's "Did You," and Taking Back Sunday's "This Photograph Is Proof (I Know You Know)." Is it because underneath that sinister-looking costume Peter Parker is just another sensitive guy who only wants to be loved? Well, um, yeah. It's still a little hard to figure out how Train snuck past the gate, especially when the best material here comes from impeccably cool rockers like Lostprophets and Jet. --Aidin Vaziri
Customer Reviews:
A Good Soundtrack for Music Lovers.......2006-12-09
As far as movie soundtracks go, "Spider-Man 2" is decent with a variety of songs that any music lover would enjoy. The CD starts with the heavy hitting "Vindicated" by Dashboard Confessional and continues rockin' through Train's "Ordinary", Hoobastank's "Did You" and into the classic feel of "Hold On" by Jet and the rock ballad for Mary Jane, "Gifts and Curses" by Yellowcard. The soundtrack changes gears a bit with the funky beat of "Woman" by Maroon 5 and shifts back to the rock `n' roll style with "This Photograph Is Proof" by Taking Back Sunday and Midtown's "Give It Up". The vocals for "Lucky You" by lostprophets are a bit softer but still continue the rock theme along with "Who I Am" by Smile Empty Soul. "The Night That The Lights Went Out In NYC" by The Ataris is one of the more melodic rock ballads on the CD as is "We Are" by Ana, which quickly reveals a harder edge. "Someone to Die For" by Jimmy Gnecco definitely feels like a Queen influenced ballad probably due to Brian May's work on the song. "Spidey Suite" and "Doc Ock Suite", both by Danny Elfman, are orchestral numbers.
Train's "Ordinary" had to be my favorite. It's a well-rounded rock song with a great beat, vocals and sound. A close second would have to be Jet's "Hold On" for its classic rock/melodic feel, Midtown's "Give It Up" for its upbeat rhythm, "Someone to Die For" by Jimmy Gnecco and Brian May because it's reminiscent of Queen (since I'm a fan of their music, I'll be a bit biased towards that one) and "Doc Ock Suite" because it seems to be more inspired than the one for Spidey.
Great CD. a must-have.......2006-06-27
I didn't really liked the movie. it's not bad, it's just boring, i think.
but this cd, is absolutely fantastic. the songs are amazing.
they fit well. the soundtracks flows perfectly.
the only songs i don't like so much are danny elfman's, they're not really my style, as they difer completely from the rest of the cd.
this is one of my favorite cds ever
it has great bands, some i knew before, some i didn't.
and it's definitely worth buying.
Esto no es la banda sonora.......2006-06-22
Esto es un disco recopilatorio, no la partitura de Danny Elfman, que se la despachan con dos cortes. ¿Dónde está la original? ¿Ya está descatalogada? Entonces sólo queda una solución...
Good for a soundtrack.......2005-12-29
Definitely better than the first movie's soundtrack. Vindicated by Dashboard Confessional is probably the most recognized song from this soundtrack and I find okay I'm not a big fan of Dashboard, but I was pleasantly surprised by this album. I even liked the songs by bands that I am not to fond of such as Yellowcard(builds up nicely in the middle and the violin adds a little something extra). Train and the Ataris also contribute good songs for the soundtrack. The tracks I would highlight are by Jet(are very good when they slow down), Midtown(totally rocks) and Taking Back Sunday(another good uptempo song). But the track I enjoy the most is "Someone To Die For" by Jimmy Gnecco(Ours) and Brian May(Queen) Jimmy has one of the best singing voices on the music sceen right now and Brian May has an incredible guitar sound all his own and both artists really sound good together. Definitely a sound track worth buying.
hello, spiderman 3.......2005-08-31
If the songs on this CD are any indication of the quality of the songs on the soundtrack for 2007's "SpiderMan 3" soundtrack, I will be one of the 1st to buy it. An awesome CD...
1. Dashboard Confessional- Vindicated (not bad 95/100)
2. Train- Ordinary (sucked 80/100)
3. Hoobastank- Did You (cool 90/100)
4. Jet- Hold On (not good 85/100)
5. Yellowcard- Gifts and Curses (top 3 100/100)
6. Maroon5- Woman (almost the worst song 60/100)
7. Taking Back Sunday- Photograph... (cool 90/100)
8. Midtown- Give It Up (great 99/100)
9. Lostprophets- Lucky You (the best song on here 110/100)
10. Smile Empty Soul- Who I Am (tie for best song 110/100)
11. The Ataris- The Night... (sucks 65/100)
12. Ana- We Are (great voice 90/100)
13. Jimmy Gnecco- Someone to Die For (worst song 51/100)
For fans of rock, this is the CD you can't miss.

A Must For Superhero Fans.......2006-09-29
What more could you ask for than seventies rock anthems telling the story of Peter Parker/Spiderman complete with narration by Stan Lee. I would spend an evening listening to this, than watching either of the recent movies. Just don't make me choose between the 70's live action show and this. That my friends would be a tough call.
Two of my favorite tracks are "New Point of View," about Peter discovering his new powers and abilities, and "No One's Got A Crush On Peter," about the struggles of the superhero who still struggles with the problems of teenage life.
A true classic.......2005-12-02
Spider-Man: Rock Reflections Of A Superhero (1975)
INTRODUCTION:
From his origin in the sixties onward, Spider-Man has consistently been one of the most popular superheroes ever conceived. It was in the middle of the seventies that one of the most interesting Spider-Man items ever released hit the market. Marvel's Agile Ann Picardo offered Lifesong records the opportunity to record an album about the exploits of Spidey. Lifesong was still relatively unknown, but the label jumped at the chance to create the album. Among the players recruited for the album were members of Lifesong's up and coming classic progressive rock group, Crack The Sky, as well as the folk rock group Jonah, the folk rock duo Cashman And West, who had once produced recordings for Jim Croce, and Manhattan Transfer member Marty Nelson. Many other musicians also participated in this project. Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee also provided narration between the album's musical tracks. How did the end result measure up! Read on for my review of Spider-Man: Rock Reflections Of A Superhero.
OVERVIEW:
Spider-Man: Rock Reflections Of A Superhero was released in 1975 on Lifesong Records. The band who performed on the album, of various musicians, was dubbed Hero. The album's musicians include Joe Macre, Jerry Marotta, Joey D'Amico, Tom Rossetter, Michael Clemens, Jim Griffiths, Rob Stevens, Don Schloss, Terence P. Minogue, Rick Witkowski, David Sanborn, Paul Rolnick, Ray Dahrouge, Marty Nelson, Geni Sackson, Bob Gengo, Mike Gregorio, Tina Kaplan, William Kirkland, Vincent Lafata, and Tommy West. Stan Lee provided narration between the musical tracks, and Spider-Man comic book artist John Romita Sr. created the cover art.The album's tracklist consists of the songs High Wire, Peter Stays And Spider-Man Goes, Square Boy, New Point Of View, Spider-Man, No One's Got A Crush On Peter, Gwendolyn, Count On Me, Doctor Octopus Part One, Doctor Octopus Part Two, A Soldier Starts To Bleed, and Time Will Show Me The Way. Narration from Stan Lee comes between the musical tracks.

As a Spider-Man fan, I was intrigued the moment I heard about this album's existence. Obviously, being born in 1984, I'm not one of those people who got to hear it back at the 1975 time of release. But I bought a copy on CD, eager to see what it would have to offer. And I must say, the end result is priceless. NO, this is not an album for everyone, as many of the other reviews will tell you. It's an acquired taste. But if you can get into it, this album will give you plenty of thrills, with its radically-diverse musical stylings. Stan Lee's narration also adds something to the album. Read on for a track-by-track analysis of the album's musical tracks.
-SIDE A-
-High Wire: The album starts off with an excellent, vintage seventies track. The sort of "theatrical rock" sound that the track has is timeless, sounding like something you'd expect from Meat Loaf, or something you'd expect to hear on the Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack. Combine that with lyrics about the life of Spider-Man, and it's a win-win situation! This is a very good song, and it's definitely one of the strongest here. It was a good starting cut to use.
-Peter Stays And Spider-Man Goes: On this track, the band slows things way down, serving up a track that is mostly acoustic and melodic in its execution. Crack The Sky's members participated heavily on this album, and this song sounds like it could have just as easily been released as one of their songs. The melodic piece deals with Peter Parker's mixed feelings about his role as Spider-Man. Combine great lyrics and great melodies, and you've got another winner.
-Square Boy: Here's one of the more irregular cuts on the album. Essentially, it's an acapella, with backing piano being the only instrumentation. If you've ever listened to any sort of acapella music before, you'll know what to expect from this song. Essentially, this one tells the story about how Peter Parker goes from loser to superhero. Despite its irregularity, it's a true classic.
-New Point Of View: Distinctly seventies pop is the best way to describe this tune. Here, we have a song from the eyes of Peter Parker ever he gets his superpowers and discovers the joys of webslinging over the city. The classic seventies pop sound works great here. Definitely a worthwhile listen.
-Spider-Man: This is the only song on this album that was released as a single, and appropriately so, as it is one of the strongest songs present. It's a seventies-style pop-rocker with electronic-sounding synths thrown into the mix. It sounds like a mix of Jackson Browne's instrumentation and Warren Zevon style vocals. Mixed with the electronic synths, it's one of the catchiest things on the album. It was a fine choice to release this as the album's single.
-BONUS TRACK FOR CD EDITION-
-No One's Got A Crush On Peter: Do you know that seventies pop-rock sound? That distinctly seventies sound that never had existed before, and would never exist again? That's what the band does on this song, in their tale of the everyday hardships of Peter Parker's life. And they do a damn good job of it, too. It's definitely one of my favorite songs on here, and it's a shame on the original vinyl it was nothing more than background music (read the "EDITION NOTES" section at the bottom of the review for more info on that.)
-SIDE B-
-Gwendolyn: Here the album takes a dramatic turn into irregular territory. This is a fifties-style doo-wop tune! It actually sounds very similar to the Penguins classic, Earth Angel, from that era. Definitely a strange way to introduce the character of Gwen Stacy! It's a refreshing change from the seventies-flavored songs most of the albums consist of, but it may be too much of a chance for some of the listeners.
-Count On Me: Here we have melodic pop rock, with horns and keyboards thrown into the mix for good measure. It's essentially Peter Parker pledging himself to Gwen Stacy, letting her know how much he really cares. After that fifties-style misadventure of the previous song, this is a nice change back to the seventies form of music.
-Doctor Octopus Part One: This is part one of a two-part Doctor Octopus medley. Crack The Sky's members participated heavily in the creation of these tracks. The two were originally one big long song with narration sandwiched between on the vinyl, but they are separated on the CD, so you can easily skip where you want to go (smart move.) It has that vintage Crack The Sky progressive seventies rock sound that you know you love. Combine that with an awesome storyline - Peter Parker has a nightmare about Doctor Octopus taking over the world - and it makes things all the more interesting. One of my favorite songs here.
-Doctor Octopus Part Two: After some Stan Lee dialogue between the two tracks, the Doctor Octopus medley continues. Essentially, in this latter installment, Doctor Octopus is holding a rally after he conquers the world, uniting the population against the superheroes. Sound weird? It is, but that just makes me love the song all the more. On the reissue of Crack The Sky's debut album, this song was included as a bonus track - and rightfully so, since it's got that vintage Crack The Sky sound.
-A Soldier Starts To Bleed: This is a slow and somber tune, which beautifully illustrates Peter Parker's internal frustration. The Green Goblin had just murdered Gwen Stacy, pushing him over the edge and into newfound feelings of depression. The acoustic stylings of the songs show this well.
-Time Will Show Me The Way: A good way to end the album. Peter Parker realizes that he must go on as Spider-Man, no matter how rough things may get. Following the slow and depressing feelings of the previous song, this one has an optimistic, uplifting feeling to it. It's an excellent album closer, giving a cliffhanger feeling of sorts - much as the comics must have done for young readers every month back in those days.
OVERALL:
Overall, this album makes for an excellent novelty item for any fan of Spider-Man. If you're expecting something that's totally going to blow you away musically, though, you're not going to find it here. With its uneven and diverse musical styles explored here, this album stands as an acquired taste that not everyone is going to fall in love with instantly. But once it grows on you, it stays with you. Every song is excellent in its own way, and you've gotta love Stan Lee's narration. This here's a blast from the past, and it's worth experiencing at least once.
EDITION NOTES:
This album was out of print for years. And Lifesong did more than reissue it - they revamped it. No One's Got A Crush On Peter, a song that was only used as background music on the original LP due to space restrictions, is presented here in its original uncensored glory. Likewise, every track has been separated, making it easy to jump right where you want to go (this especially comes in handy with the Doctor Octopus track(s), which feature dialogue in between.) There are plenty of added liner notes as well, which make for an interesting read. It's tough to find, but worth checking out if you're a fan of Spider-Man, seventies music, or both.

BUYER BEWARE: Previously unreleased bonus tracks have since been reissued on "It's Time" Fanclub Edition!.......2006-01-14
Before you think about shelling out big bucks some sellers are asking for this release (that apparently was only available briefly at Target stores) it is worth noting that the two unreleased bonus tracks on this disc ("I'm Beginning To See The Light", "Softly As I Leave You") have since been reissued on the Fanclub Edition of "It's Time" (available through michaelbuble.com), which in additon includes a third bonus track "It's All In The Game". If you're a serious fan the Fanclub Edition is the one to get!

Album Description
"Spider Man, where are you coming from? Spider Man, nobody knows who you are...Spider Man, you've got that Spidey touch...Spider Man, you are a web-slinging star!" Until now, fans have only heard the version of Spider Man used on "The Electric Company" television show. But a full-blown, wacky dance version that was produced and recorded in the 70's is now available as a CD single from 150 Music! As Music Director and Composer for "The Electric Company", Gary William Friedman wrote over 40 songs. Hands down, his most popular song is still the Spider Man theme.
Customer Reviews:
The ultimate Spidey theme song!.......2003-05-21
I discovered Spidey on "The Electric Company" as a kid and this theme song has stayed in my mind ever since. There's so much outrageous energy and humor to this version and it's much hipper than the corny 60's theme. I highly recommend this CD as a compliment to any dance party mixer, it simply rocks. It should also be included/covered the movie sequel's soundtrack!
For diehard fans only.......2003-05-20
This is a cool song but not the greatest. I'm a huge fan and I bought it for my collection.

This is by far one of my favorite songs by Michael Buble. The song speaks for itself and I highly recomend listening to it.
Incredible.......2005-03-29
His rendition of "Spiderman Theme" brings a dignity, fun, and exquisite classiness to an otherwise juvenile ditty. Truly incredible. I almost cheer everytime I hear this song. It's really well done.

Album Description
"The songs on Summer Filled Sky were put together as a collection because of the way they tap into that thing that stirs inside us when winter finally gives way," explains Daniels. From joyful pop rock anthems like Day to Live and Welcome to Your Life to the melancholy beauty of ballads like Tattoo and Spiderman, Summer Filled Sky leaves no emotion untapped and no feeling unstirred.
Summer Filled Sky was mixed and mastered by legendary engineer and producer Rodney Mills who has earned 37 gold and platinum albums for mixing, mastering, and producing artists including Sheryl Crow, Pearl Jam, Gregg Allman, and REM. Mr. Mills successfully captured just the right vibe for Daniels' distinct style and inspiring lyrics, and set her most impressive instrument -her voice- perfectly in the tracks.
Customer Reviews:
Strong Lyrics, Great Voice.......2006-06-21
Jennifer Daniels' range and talent are evident in Summer Filled Sky, and some of her personality comes through as well. Sadly, nothing can replace the experience of hearing her live; but the CD is an acceptable substitute. Daniels moves easily from folksy ballads to energetic rock. Her voice is crystal-clear and admirably subtle. For me, though, its her lyrics that drive the music. Daniels has a gift for clever phrases and beautiful images that stick around long after the music has faded. I highly recommend the CD, and I even more strongly encourage you to hear her live.
southern songwriter with strong voice.......2006-01-05
Jennifer Daniles is a brilliant singer songwriter with strong influences in the Celtic and folk traditions. her singing voice moves from soft and lilting to strong and empowering. anyone looking for quality "rootsy" music with strong melodies and insightful lyrics should look no further. the one drawback to this CD compared to her previous "Dive and Fly" is the musical arrangements focus more on the electric guitar rather than the more atmospheric and textured acoustic arrangments of her earlier records. so while the songs are all beautiful, they can be at times lacking in intimacy
