Another day, another 'Now!'...and 'Now! 15' sports some decent tracks here, starting with No Doubt's 'It's My Life' which isn't my favorite No Doubt song, not by a long shot, but it's No Doubt and they rarly put out anything you need to avoid. Next up on the plate is 'Toxic' by Britney and I don't really need to say anything more than, whether you love or hate her, 'Toxic' is one of the most infectious songs I've ever heard. I haven't met one person who doesn't like this song. Sarah Connor gives us 'Bounce' which was kind of a sleeper. I mean, I had heard the song a bunch of times but never knew who sang it, and sadly I didn't care to find out. Not that it's a bad song, just not that memerable. Jessica Simpson also shows her face here with one of the most annoying songs ever...'With You'...I don't know I just hate her.

Beyonce also fails to deliver, for 'Me, Myself & I' was one of the only songs off 'Dangerously In Love' that I hated. It kind of floors me that they included Eamon's track, even though it was such a huge hit. It's just one of those songs I think totally loses everything with half the words taken out.

For the most part the rap here is strong...Luda delivering on 'Stand Up' and he also lends his talents to Chingy's 'Holidae In' but it's Westside Connections 'Gangsta Nation' featuring Nate Dogg that takes the crown as best track on the album. It's smooth vocals and tight beats make it a gem amoungst the rest. Nick Cannon and Baby Bash serve up mediocre tracks here, Nick Cannon still outshining Baby Bash (I can't stand this guy), and Black Eyed Peas pull off one of their best tracks ever. 'Shut Up' is perfect.

Sheryl Crow is good if not overplayed BIG time, but it's still a good song. Norah Jones failed to impress me with 'Sunrise' but that's just my opinion....I never really cared to listen to it. Fe Fe Dobson also loses my interest.

The rock set is good, Three Days Grace delivering the best rock song here...LOVE THAT SONG!!! Never really cared for Blink's 'Feelin' This' but Good Charlotte and Fuel deliver good ballad type rock sets, and Five for Fighting give us '100 Years' which is still one of my favorite songs. All in all this is a nice addition to the 'Now!' family and is sure to entertain most people.

Not the best Now album but not the worst either. It has 4 awesome songs that make the whole album worthwhile: "It's My Life", "Toxic", "With You", and "Sunrise." I would buy it just for those 4 songs.

I really like Now 15, especially since Eamon is on it.

1. It's My Life - No Doubt: C. It gets too old.
2. Toxic - Britney Spears: B. I like the groove in it. It could be better.
3. Stand Up - Ludacris: B+. I like this song.
4. Holidae Inn - Chingy: C. Right Thurr is a lot better.
5. Gangsta Nation - Westside Connection: A+ I love this jam. I like it when they say "party like Beyonce, face like Andre.".
6. Bounce - Sarah Connor: D+. I don't like it. She's trying too hard.
7. Shut Up - Black Eyed Peas: C. It's ok, I guess.
8. Gigolo - Nick Cannon: F. No comment.
9. Me, Myself, and I - Beyonce: A+. I love this song! At first I thought it was okay, now I love it.
10. Shorty Doowop - Baby Bash: B+. Good, but his voice isn't full.
11. I Don't Want You Back - Eamon: A+. I LOVE THIS SONG! I LOVE EAMON! HE IS SO GOOD!
12. With You - Jessica Simpson: B+. Good, but it gets boring sometimes.
13. Sunrise - Norah Jones: F. Way too slow.
14. First cut is the deepest-Sheryl Crow: A-. I like this song, and it never gets old for some reason.
15. Everything - Fefe Dobson: B. Great song, but too generic.
16. I Hate Everything About You - Three Days Grace: D+. Bland.
17. Feeling This - Blink-182: D. One of their bad songs.
18. Hold On - Good Charlotte: B-. It's good, but his voice sounds g@y.
19. Falls On Me - Fuel: B. It's pretty good, but needs better lyrics. Definitely.
20. 100 Years - 5 For Fighting: B+. I don't like it that much, but it's good at an end of a CD.

Overall, I gave it 4 stars. I upped the rating because it has Eamon, otherwise I'd probably rate it 3 stars.

LAST WORD: Buy it if you liked pop music from late 2003 and early 2004.

This CD is good. This is what I think about each song:

1. It's my life-No doubt: B+. Like the song, and my parents also, since there is an original version that is at least 20 years old. Gwen Stefani had a nice-sounding, less screechy voice, but she sounds kind of like she is crying.
2. Toxic-Britney Spears: C+. I like it a little bit. I used to hate it when it came out, but after hearing it for the 50th time this summer, I decided "It's okay, but if I have to hear it a thousand times, I go crazy." It is one of my 9-year-old sister's top favorite songs. Britney does not show very much talent when singing this song, but when you hear it in the morning and don't play any other songs, you have it stuck in your head for the rest of the day.
3. Stand up-Ludacris: D+. I like rap sometimes, but not like that.
4. Holiday in-Chingy: I hate it. Weird-sounding.
5. Gangsta nation-Westside connection: Weird-sounding, don't really know it.
6. Bounce-Sarah Connor: B-. Good song, but again, weird-sounding.
7. Shut up-Black-eyed peas: C. It's okay, but don't make me listen to it a thousand times.
8. Gigolo-Nick Cannon: I hate it. I can already tell that it's too rappy for me.
9. Me, myself, and I-Beyonce: C+. It's okay.
10. Shortly doowop-Baby bash: Don't really know it.
11. I don't want you back-Eamon: B-. I like it, but his voice is really high.
12. With you-Jessica Simpson: A. Very romantic sounding. It sounds like she's singing about paradise.
13. Sunrise-Norah Jones:C-
14. First cut is the deepest-Sheryl Crow: C+. Too hokey for me.
15. Everything-Fefe Dobson: A-. Like the song. She sings nicely.
16. Everything about you-3 days grace: C. It's okay.

20. 100 years-5 for fighting: C-. Don't like it. You can't get away from it. It's in every store you walk into. You can play it once, but not a lot.

When I think of the piano, the first composer that comes to my mind is Chopin. Chopin was a composer who excelled in small form writing for the piano. He wrote beautiful melodies with complex accompaniment that was both challenging for the performer and enlightening for the listener. Chopin did not write many multi-movement pieces and what he did write is generally not as good as his solo piano pieces anyway (this is my opinion, not a fact).
When buying recordings of Chopin's music, there are basically two options. You can either go with a "Greatest Hits" type collection, which works very well with Chopin, or you can buy collections that assemble all he wrote for a certain form (preludes, nocturnes, etudes, etc...). If you are new to Chopin, I suggest buying a "Greatest Hits" collection, though not necessarily this one, even though this is the CD in my car right now. The playing is okay but it's nothing really that special. Considering all the masterful Chopin interpreters out there, such as Rubinstein, Ashkenazy, Argerich, Pollini, and Perahia, it seems silly not to start with a pianist that you really love, since almost every great pianist has recorded works by Chopin. Having said that, this collection contains almost all my favorite works by Chopin, my only complaint being I wish it had more than one nocturne. Thus it serves as a good introduction to Chopin's music. I would recommend the Favorite Chopin collection by Ashkenazy over this collection because not only is he an amazing pianist and a masterful interpreter of Chopin, but it's two discs for the price of one.

Revolutionary Etude and many other performers are good. However, Fanastie Impromptu I've heard performed much better. Raindrop Prelude is played okay, but the song is so low in volume that I can hardly hear it. Good deal though.

Not a good version of Les Sylphides (#17); which is only a 5 minute excerpt. Any other Les Sylphides pieces are sprinkled throughout the CD as piano.

I own several CDs in this series and this one, unfortunately is the one that comes off the shelf the least. Even since loading the contents up MP3 style into my computer and iPod only a few get played. Only a select few truly sound like the alternative radio I grew up with in the 80s.

I love this album. Besides the familiar theme song, there are many pieces which we all learn to play as children studying piano. It's great to hear them. A great gift for young people studying piano.

I did not know what to expect when I ordered this cd. I ordered it primarily for the Lucy & Linus song but was pleasantly surprised with all the other selections of piano music. It is a cd of piano music that one would believe Schroeder would play. Classics from of course Beethovan and many other familiar favorites. I listen to this cd in the car and it is one of my favorite cd's.

I had this cassette when I was a little girl...mom garage saled it accidentally and I had been missing it for a long time. Amazon was the only place I was able to find a copy of the CD and I was SOOO happy to see it in my mailbox. Just plain old piano classics...if you enjoy solo piano, this is a great one. Love it!

Very enjoyable CD. Simple and straight forward, a solo piano and selections from a long list of remarkable composers, followed up with the Peanuts tune Linus and Lucy with a jazz trio(piano, bass and drums) If this dosen't motivate a piano player nothing will. 5 stars!

I will be writing a review on the legendary compilation album entitled "THE JAMES GANG--15 GREATEST HITS" by one of Rock's greatest legendary bands ever. I give you THE JAMES GANG. This legendary compilation album was originally released in 1973 on Vinyl/LP and 8-Track on the MCA Records label. I purchased one of the first releases of this album on Compact Disc in the late 80's. As always, if I hear any new additional information concerning this legendary compilation album or the artist, I will edit this review immediately so that you the consumer will get the best informative and most accurate review possible.

THE JAMES GANG will forever go down in Rock n' Roll history and be remembered for being another great legendary three-man band that dared to Rock in the glorious tradition of legendary contemporary bands such as CREAM and GRAND FUNK RAILROAD. THE JAMES GANG was originally formed in 1966 by drummer Jimmy Fox in Cleveland, Ohio. There have been many band personnel changes which included original bassist Tom Kriss being replaced by Dale Peters in 1969. Original guitarist Glen Schwartz would be replaced by Joe Walsh in 1969. THE JAMES GANG line-up of drummer Jimmy Fox, bassist Dale Peters and lead and rhythm guitarist Joe walsh would become the GANG that most people and fans would come to know and remember. Their first album together "YER ALBUM" would be released in the fall of 1969 to highly critical acclaim reviews and it would seem like THE JAMES GANG were sizzlin' red hot and on a roll. From 1969 to 1971, THE JAMES GANG would release incredible albums containing great songs and would give THE JAMES GANG a reputation for being hard Rockers that dared to Rock in your face. However, at the end of 1971, Joe Walsh would leave the band in pursuit of his own solo career. This 1973 compilation album I'm about to review for you is the result of the great hit songs that were recorded by THE JAMES GANG line-up of Fox, Peters and Walsh during the 1969 to 1971 period. In my opinion, "THE JAMES GANG--15 GREATEST HITS" is a true testament of the sheer genius and musical creativity of three extremely talented young individuals and a fine fitting tribute to a great legendary three-man band that was truly indeed, far ahead of their time.

It is now time to let THE JAMES GANG Rock n' Roll music speak for itself and do all of the talking. PLEASE NOTE: THIS ALBUM SHOULD BE PLAYED EXTREMELY LOUD. This legendary compilation album begins with the blasting hard Rocker "Walk Away," the funkish hard Rocker "Funk #49," the slow and smooth hard Country Rocker "Midnight Man," the merciless hard Rocker "The Bomber (A. Closet Queen, B. Cast Your Fate To The Wind)," the twelve minute bass filled soulful hard Rocker "Stop," the slow and beautiful acoustic number "Thanks," the slow and soothing mild Rocker "White Man/Black Man," the dare to get in your face hard Rocker "Woman," the slow and incredible orchestrated acoustic song "Again," the fantastic cirus like mellow Rocker "Take A Look Around," the refreshing funkish hard Rocker and sequel to "Funk #49," "Funk #48," the slow and intense hard Rocker "Tend My Garden," the slow and mellow Country Rocker "There I Go Again," the slow and beautifully orchestrated acoustic song "Ashes, The Rain And I" and the slow haunting and disturbing beautifully orchestrated acoustic Rocker "Collage." May I also add that Walsh's blistering guitar licks and riffs are the real stuff that is made of legend. Walsh was definitely sizzlin' red hot and on fire during the recording of these songs. I love these songs and I'm sure that you will too.

Overall, this is one hell of a legendary compilation album worth seeking further into and checking out especially if you are a diehard JAMES GANG fan or a devout music collector. As for all of the newcomers or new beginners to the sound and music of THE JAMES GANG, I would definitely buy this compilation album. However, there are other JAMES GANG compilation albums that you might want to research further into and check out before you purchase the right one for you. YOU HAVE TO HEAR THIS ALBUM TO BELIEVE IT. YOU WON'T BE SORRY.

I would like to highly recommend purchasing this legendary compilation album to own as a valuable and important part of his or her own personal music collection. This legendary compilation album has already proven to stand the test of time and will always be around to be enjoyed, appreciated and cherished for many years to come, NOW AND FOREVER. This is one compilation album that no music fan or devout music collector would want to be without.

In closing, following Walsh's departure from the band in 1971, Fox and Peters continued for five more years with a succession of guitar players, notably Dominic Troiano and later Tommy Bolin. But the magic of the earlier line-up which included Walsh was hard to equal, and by 1977, the band called it quits. Walsh, meanwhile, joined THE EAGLES after a successful solo career and was a major part of some of the most successful and meaningful music of the era. Over the years, Fox, Peters and Walsh stayed in touch, and on occasion, they worked together. In 1996, the band played at a rally for President Bill Clinton (Clinton chose the tunes.). In 1998, the band performed in three episodes of THE DREW CAREY SHOW, playing the part of Drew's band, THE HORNDOGS. In 2001, the band performed three sold-out shows in Cleveland, Ohio to benefit the ROCK N' ROLL HALL OF FAME charities in which these shows marked the first time in 30 years that the band actually played full-blown concerts for an audience. On the strength of those performances, the band decided to perform again in 2005, and once again, did three sold-out concerts in the Cleveland area. Discussions turned at that point to doing something more like a full-blown tour and in 2006, the band began preparations for a tour of the USA in the summer of 2006. As we speak, rumors have it that another JAMES GANG tour is in the works. I will keep you informed as to how that unfolds. Hearing all of this information, it is clearly obvious that THE JAMES GANG is still in popular demand. THE JAMES GANG has contributed and accomplished so much in Rock n' Roll history that the band is still not ready to rest on their laurels just yet. With this in mind, THE JAMES GANG has definitely left their mark in Rock n' Roll history and will never be forgotten. So here's to you Jimmy, Joe and Dale. Thanks for the great memories. 15 GREATEST HITS (my copy says 16 GREATEST HITS) is a great anthology of the best moments by one of the premier American hard rock acts of the 70s. It opens with the one-two punch of "Walk Away" and "Funk #49", and then moves on to the epic rock suite "The Bomber", before moving through a series of diverse rockers and ballads that you never quite get to the bottom of. If you get this and THE JAMES GANG RIDES AGAIN, you have the essential James Gang library.

Advance apologia for the "seedy" summary; James Gang had however been hailed by critics as a forerunner of what rock would become in the decade to follow. Pre-cogniscent man! The Eagles became mega stars, and these early jams persevere as evidence to the greatness that lay ahead (more misogyny?). "Walk Away" remains a touchstone work of classic rock.

I've been a James Gang fan since the early 70s, and I still think Joe Walsh's work in that group rivals anything he's ever done on his own or with the Eagles. "Walk Away," "Funk #49," "Midnight Man," and "The Bomber" are all classics to me. Walsh, of course, has always been the consummate rock guitarist, and Jim Fox, with all his jazz technique, was one of the best rock drummers ever.

"The Bomber," a medley consisting of "Closet Queen" (the lyrics of which describe a nightmarish situation for a teenage boy) and "Cast Your Fate to the Wind," used to have an intervening quotation from "Bolero," which explains the "Bolero" beat behind "Cast Your Fate to the Wind." I bring it up because "Bolero" ended with some great guitar chords that made an extremely effective lead-in to "Cast Your Fate to the Wind." Why "Bolero" was removed from the me! dley in later pressings of "The Bomber" is something I can't understand, but anyone familiar with the tune will know what I'm talking about.

However, my favorite James Gang song will always be "Tend My Garden," with its lovely organ part, bouncy guitar rhythms (which later heavily influenced Boston in "More Than a Feeling"), and emotional guitar solo. For years it was my favorite song, and it's still greatly appealing to me.

    'Greatest Hits' compilations are purposeful for those who don't want 'the whole piece'.This cd has too many long and ambient versions to be suitable for beginners to Brahms.Alot of his outstanding moments are 'blended in', rather than 'stood out'.So his melodic element is missed on some selections.But there are stand-outs.This Hungarian Dance n.5 is the most extravagent version i've heard.The tempo-changes are clever, and the orchestra packs a gypsy punch.A couple of the chamber works are great (tho u can find similar to those versions on many brahms' best of's).I find the melody of 'lullaby' is a bit lost in how very slowly it's done.Most 'Brahms' Greatest Hits' do focus more heavily on his orchestral pieces.This one also does, so I feel theres too few of his great chamber (trio/4tet/5tet) themes.

    I have always loved the sound of the Harpsichord and for many years hearing poorly recorded or played Harpsichord this treasure is a must have. From the fine compositions to the good sound quality this CD is definately a keeper.
    Plenty of music for a moderate price as well.

    This CD is very very good just what I was looking for. I highly recommend this CD if you are planning on purchasing a Harpsicord CD, this one is the best.

    I love the sound of this most unusual instrument, the harpsichord. Especially the fast intricately melodic songs. Very enjoyable. This "Greatest Hits" includes many compositions perfectly suited to this wonderful old predecessor to the piano. There's even a little funny trivia thrown in: on the song sheet is written: Q:"what did the famous conductor Sir Thomas say that the harpsichord sounds like? A: "Like two skeletons screwing on a hot tin roof" :)

    This is a fun cd. BYRD, BULL, BACH ETC come through great Scarlatti bits sound like a flock of unhappy cows running of a field of burnt popcorn but those bits generally do unless played on the African Kalimba [or thumb piano] in Africa where I need not hear them.

    This is a well engineered CD. Many featuring the harpsichord demand a level of equipment beyond that of any regular person with bills, which means this disk sounds just fine on a boom box. Everybody in the family will like some part of this disk `cept for the 13 year old whose lost to punk rock or hip hop.

    I can't imagine a better sampler of harpsichord 'hits' played by one of the great stereo-era masters. A full complement of emotions is displayed here, from the most delicate and sparing texture to the most rip-roaring martial roar. If you're wondering what the harpsichord is about, or if you're already a fan and want a great sampler to play for your own delight and amusement, you cannot go wrong with this recording.

      this is if you want the obvious hits from them. i love the tams period. i forgot the lead singer's name, but may he rest in peace, man. his voice is one of those that makes you say HOW DOES HE DO THAT?!!!? that and that if-it-ain't-broke-don't-fix-it style of music is why i dig it so.
