Miguel y Miguel are one of the most startling success stories in modern Mexican music. Their sound is very traditional--two voices, two guitars, and a bass--but their records are top sellers. The reason is the sheer power and beauty of their work, the nasal, "country" voices blending with the same sweetness of U.S. country duos like the Louvin Brothers, the guitar lines swinging and consistently inventive. This album explores the corrido, or ballad, and includes a new version of Miguel y Miguel's biggest hit, "Sonora y Sus Ojos Negros."
