If you like: Buena Vista Social Club, Eliades Ochoa, Juan Luis Guerra, Cuban Son, you will love Coco Merenson.
In this CD, the flavors of son and merengue are played by this versatile and talented band led by guitarist Juan De Jesus "Coco." I have heard other bands attempt to cover both musical worlds, and end up doing neither very well. This one, however is quite different. Both the Cuban and Dominican sounds are both done superbly -- with integrity, heart and mucho sabor.
